Downtown Walking Tour
As we stroll through some of downtown Nantucket’s most scenic spots, we’ll explore how the island was formed and learn about the Wampanoag Native Americans and the arrival of early European settlers — from their early farming efforts to the Wampanoag’s introduction of whaling. You’ll hear how Nantucket rose to become the whaling capital of the world and why that industry eventually declined. The tour also highlights the evolution of the island’s rich culture and heritage, and its remarkable revival as a beloved historic and tourist destination from the late 1800s and early 1900s to today.
Many guests combine both the walking and scenic driving tour together to gain the full historic and scenic perspective of Nantucket.
This tour takes approximately 2 hours. The fee for the tour is $110 per person.

A deposit of 50% is required in advance of your Discover Nantucket Tour and/or Nantucket Bike Tour scheduled date.

Cancellation Policy
Discover Nantucket and Nantucket Bike Tours will be cancelled in the event of extreme weather, but will operate rain or shine… Nantucket is called “The Grey Lady” after all.
We ask for a 50% deposit for tour parties of 4 or more and have a 48 hour cancellation policy, should you need to reschedule or cancel your booking. There are no refunds for cancellations made within 48 hours of the tour departure or for no-shows. Cancellation requests are required by email or phone.
Should your travel plans to the island be impacted by weather, we will make every effort to reschedule your tour. If we are unable to reschedule or you provide a cancellation request 48 hours before your tour, we will apply a credit for a tour at a later date in time.
